Dr. Yao graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, one of the world’s top dental schools. She founded Captain Dental in 2018 and has been dedicated to serving families across the Bay Area ever since.
In 2026, Dr. Yao was selected by the California Dental Board as a Subject Matter Expert and invited to work with the Office of Professional Examination Services (OPES) on the development of the official Dentistry Law & Ethics licensing examination, the exam required for dentists to practice in California. Her work contributes to shaping professional standards in dentistry across the state.
She specializes in advanced surgical treatments, including dental implants, bone grafting, and sinus lift procedures.
